Meet Dr. Ryan McCormack, DDS

Fischer Family Dentistry - the best dental practice in Sumner County, Tennessee - has a new dentist.

When Ryan McCormack was a kid growing up in Bloomington, Indiana, he had to watch his back.

“When you’re the youngest of three brothers, you can’t let your guard down. During the winter months in Indiana, every tree could potentially hide an older brother armed with a snowball.”

The upside was that Ryan always had someone to play with. Basketball, baseball, soccer, golf…

The McCormack boys spent a lot of time outside because their physician parents, Daniel and Emma, were responsible about screentime before it was en vogue to be responsible about screentime.

The three brothers could only watch TV on the weekends, and even then in moderation. Daniel and Emma must have done something right because all three boys became doctors.

Ryan decided to go to dental school after an experience running errands with his dentist brother, Kevin.

“People around town knew Kevin. At the gym, at the pharmacy, and at the grocery story. I saw how my brother was really part of his community, and I decided to go to dental school instead of pursuing another medical specialty because I wanted that too.”

After studying biology and business at Loyola University in Baltimore, Ryan followed Kevin’s path and continued his studies at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.

He noticed a pretty brunette classmate at orientation.

Katie.

“Just a week into dental school, I told a buddy I was going to marry that girl.

It took me a while to win her over, but Katie eventually said yes.”

After finishing dental school, Dr. Katie McCormack entered an ortho residency in Baltimore, and Dr. Ryan McCormack joined Family Dental Care in Brooklyn Park, Maryland, where he spent the first chapter of his career learning advanced procedures as a general dentist: conscious oral sedation, dentures, molar endo, surgical extractions, and implant placement.

By the time Katie wrapped up her residency, both McCormacks were highly skilled and in high demand.

As of August ‘23, Dr. Ryan McCormack and Dr. Katie McCormack are officially Tennesseans.

After considering many offers, the McCormacks decided to move to Middle Tennessee, where Ryan had an offer to join Fischer Family Dentistry, one of the most respected family practices in the Southeast.

Since opening in Hendersonville in 1990, Dr. Kelli Fischer, Dr. Scott Fischer, and the rest of the Fischer Family Dentistry team have earned the trust of three generations of families by delivering excellent clinical care anchored in integrity and complemented by hospitality.

“Katie and I love Nashville, where we’re still close to family, and we especially love Hendersonville and Old Hickory Lake.

Dr. Kelli and Dr. Scott are role models for me and Katie. They’ve built something special by treating people the right way and consistently delivering exceptional clinical outcomes. Just check out their 600+ five star google reviews!

It really is a privilege to join their team and build my own long-term practice on such a strong foundation.”

Dr. Ryan’s schedule is already filling up, but there’s still room for a handful of new patients in the Hendersonville area.
