When Dr. Ericka Metayer moved to Nashville for her residency in General Dentistry at Meharry Medical College, she fell in love with Tennessee and decided to stay for the long term.
She was born in Haiti, but moved to Miami, FL as a young girl and developed a deep appreciation for culture, diversity, and community. After graduating from college in Miami, Dr. Metayer went to dental school at Howard University in Washington, DC before relocating to Nashville.
As much as she loved growing up in Miami and her time in Washington, DC and Nashville, she knew she ultimately wanted to build a life in a smaller, tight-knit community (like Martin).
“I worked at dental clinics all over Tennessee during my residency, and I especially loved working in areas outside of Nashville. Martin has such a genuine small-town charm. I love the close-knit feel of the community, the friendly people, and the slower pace of life.”

Dr. Metayer moved to Martin in July of 2025 and officially began a new chapter at one of the best dental practices in West Tennessee. She specializes in all aspects of general dentistry.

My mission is to make every patient feel comfortable, heard, and well cared for, and to provide dental care that’s not only clinically excellent but also deeply personal.”

Dr. Metayer and her official fan club, her family who have stood by her and encouraged since she first dreamed of becoming a dentist.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Metayer enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring local restaurants, and traveling when she can. She loves music - anything from classic R&B to gospel - and she’s always up for a good podcast or documentary. She says staying grounded and recharged outside of work helps her give her best to her patients every day.
